The two women, Arti Kumar (22) and Pooja Kumar (19), were travelling en route to Rohtak College at the time of the incident. Reportedly, despite the two sisters' objections to the men's lewd remarks, the men persisted which led to the fight. Neither any passenger, nor the bus driver or bus conductor aided the two women and the bus remained in transit throughout the recorded altercation. The sisters claim that when the bus eventually stopped, the men pushed them out of the bus and began beating them. After the video recorded by a passenger went viral, the three men - identified as Kuldeep, Mohit and Deepak - were all arrested.
