Ridgemont House, which was sold to retired police officer Sue Diamond for £154,000, crumbled down the sheer face of Oddicombe Cliffs in Torquay, Devon after a series of landslides. The house first started to shift a week after Miss Diamond bought it over the telephone without viewing it or having a survey done. All that remains is one end of the house, but the majority of the rest of the 1930s building has now fallen into the sea along with hundreds of tonnes of cliff. The slip is believed to have happened at 9pm last night and roads near the scene have been closed off. Coastguards were warning people to stay away from the beach and police had cordoned off the area.
