The commercial tells an alternative storyline to the actual sequence of events by having a police officer accidentally fires his gun, killing the former President. The loose connection between the substance of the ad and the gambling site that it is promoting is that the shooting by the fictional officer is prompted by a bet between the man and his colleague. 'Betcha I can spin my gun around my finger three times like a cowboy,' one officer says to another, and it goes downhill from there. The bullet ricochets through a balloon, hits a building emergency exit, then a mailbox, then the viewer just sees Jackie Kennedy climbing out the back of the open-top convertible she is riding in while a secret service agent runs towards her. The camera pans back to the cops and they point their fingers behind them. 'It wasn't down here. It's was up there! Fourth floor! Or the sixth floor!' making a reference to the apartment where shooter Lee Harvey Oswald fired the fatal bullet. Details like the location of the shooter, the period dress, and the old fashioned police car that reads 'Dallas Police' made the intended subject very clear. The ad then shows the words 'You like to bet?' and shows the name of the gaming site, PMU. The timing of the ad makes it even more insensitive as this November is the 50th anniversary of the shooting. The 32-second video was posted by French advertising firm Publicis Conseil, thought calls from MailOnline were not immediately returned due to the time difference.
