African Lions at Linton Zoo love their new Christmas Tree

- description: Many of our animals have an extra seasonal variation in enrichment items at this time of the year. Having been the centre of fun for several weeks in peoples homes the discarded Christmas Trees come to us to provide hours of fun for our animals. Zuri was born on 3rd July 2006 at West Midlands Safari Park, having been rejected by his inexperience first time mother he was removed for hand-rearing and came to live with us at just a few weeks old. Zuri and his mate, Safina, born here at Linton Zoo on 30th November 2005, have just become grandparents twice over. Two of their offspring, Louisa (who now lives at Longleat Safari Park) and Zara (who lives at the Entebbe Wildlife Education Centre in Uganda) have recently become first time mothers themselves.
