It's hands down the king of kings! You don't want to mess with this rugged beast! It can take anything you can throw at it and then some! The Taktik is a beast, and with its beastliness comes significant added size for your iPhone. But its purpose is to protect, and in that regard, it does a very good job, even optionally adding an extra layer of Corning's Gorilla Glass into the mix. It also has high water resistance, but don't go dunking your phone like you might with the Lifeproof. Right out of the box, the TakTik comes with a small screwdriver, a LunaTik-branded cleaning cloth, and of course the TakTik iPhone case. Right away, the TakTik reminds me of tank. It's designed to be durable, and that's certainly obvious just by looking at this beast of an iPhone case. One caveat were the number of screws you have to unscrew and screw back on to enclose the iPhone. It's worth mentioning that there's an extra screw provided for you taped to the foam packing inside of the case. The Taktik Extreme (124.99) offers "ultra-rugged protection from impact, drops and screen damage as well as water and dust ingression." To sum up the overall design of the case, the Extreme is made of 3 main parts. The first is a hard plastic casing that is used as the bezel and exterior of the case. The second is a layer of thick shock-absorbing silicone. This layer offers great protection for the perimeter of the device as it contains a patent-pending impact truss design. When dropped, the phone will actually bounce due to the unique design of the impact truss. The most notable component of the case is the Corning Gorilla Glass screen. This thin screen used in many smartphones is thin, tough, and scratch resistant. Aluminum port covers protect the headphone jack and lighting port. All of these 3 components make a stylish, ultra-rugged case.
