- description: On Christmas Eve Santa will leave the North Pole and travel down the centre of the International Date Line into the southern hemisphere. He will visit the Pacific Islands first, and then continue onto New Zealand, departing from the South Island. This year, Tasmania will be Santa’s first stop in Australia, before he travels up to Sydney to check in with Airservices air traffic controllers. Santa will then travel north to Queensland, before zig zagging up and down Australia, stopping at our Melbourne control tower to use the latest cutting edge technology. From there Santa will continue across Australia, visiting South Australia and the Northern Territory. After delivering all the presents, Santa leaves Australian airspace, and continues north towards Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
