- description: The All Blacks have well and truly put their narrow second Test escape against Ireland behind them, blowing the Irish away in a record-breaking 60-0 victory in the third Test in Hamilton. Four tries in the first 25 minutes, all of which Aaron Cruden had a big hand in before going off injured, knocked the spirit out of Ireland, who couldn't lift themselves after last week's deflating 22-19 loss in Christchurch. The All Blacks eventually scored nine tries and their victory was their largest winning margin over Ireland. The All Blacks were better in nearly every area than they were in Christchurch, dominating the breakdown, improving greatly in the scrum and defence, and looking dangerous in attack. Two backflips from Cruden set up the first two All Blacks inside the first 15 minutes to Sam Cane and Sonny Bill Williams, though there was a suspicion Cruden lost the ball forward in the lead-up. An inside pass from Cruden put Williams in for a third, and he then scooped up a lost Irish ball 70m out to set Ben Smith away before limping off with a knee injury. Ireland went down to 14 men right on halftime after fullback Rob Kearney was adjudged to have deliberately knocked on, and while he was away the All Blacks scored again through Cane and Hosea Gear. The biggest cheer of the night came when Chiefs stalwart Liam Messam scored from a Cane pass, and further tries to Israel Dagg and Adam Thomson rounded off a record-breaking night for the All Blacks. The All Blacks have twice scored more points against Ireland than they did in the third test but their winning margin of 60 was their greatest, topping the 59-6 victory they scored at Athletic Park, Wellington in 1992.
