From tonights video you can see how out of order things are being in some protestant communites, yes its wrong for those to use force against police keeping order, however as many in the community have said, ''what else are they supposed to do when they and their community are attacked and beat''. iI was in Danger quite a few times being in the middle of things with bricks bottles and petrol bombs and twice officers ran for me, i was in no way acting threatening apart from using my cameras. ''You will hear me step over my own professional lines but only when i feel that something needs to be addressed.. sorry but im only human''... Tensions tonight were expectedly high in East Belfast after last nights trouble and the news and statements today blaming the Protestant community for last nights altercations. The community were in dismay at being branded criminals by the media and others of influence as they were the ones that came under attack. I attended the peaceful protest in Rathcoole this evening when i got a call telling me what was transpiring on the streets of East Belfast.. When i arrived i was quite shocked what i seen before my eyes.. Street lights were out, the roads on fires, police lights and sirens everywhere.. As i walked along Templemore Avenue approaching the Castlereagh street Junction TSG units arrived and headed towards the protestors and after initial warnings given Police then moved in on the Protestant community. This sadly resulted in yet even more running battles, raised tensions and Anger in the community and many people being arrested by snatch squads.. at approx 11pm i counted exactly 39 Police Landrovers and 4 Water cannons, 2 being ready to be used while another 2 stood of on standby.. The evening played out with constant face paced actions by police which was then met with Petrol bombs, Missles, Bottles and Bricks.. Unconfirmed reports (by a psni officer) a blast bomb was also used, though it landed a few feet from me and i was deaf for a few minutes. The evening ended around 1:30 am and tongiht Police were again given Authority to use Plastic bullets on any person seen acting in an Agressive or Threatening manner. Despite what you read or listen or watch today, the facts are clear and those there on the ground seen exactly what occurred.. ( All facts, All Reported as Seen.. ) As one person has said, History has a tendancy to repeat itself.... And im going to be there to record the truth............
