- description: Ik ben afgelopen week, zoals velen, haast ieder moment van de dag bezig geweest met de toestand van Nouri. Toen het slechte nieuws van afgelopen donderdag kwam, was er bij mij dan ook geen twijfel om vrijdagavond naar Geuzenveld te gaan. Wat ik daar voelde, is niet in woorden te beschrijven. Nouri heeft niet alleen een ongekend voetballend talent, hij heeft ook het talent om zijn medespelers, supporters van alle clubs, kids die tegen hem op kijken maar ook mensen met totaal andere achtergronden en geloofsovertuigingen met elkaar te verbinden. Toen ik gisteren bij zijn ouderlijk huis stond, kreeg ik direct al in de gaten dat zijn familie en vrienden dat ook hebben. In de meest onzekere tijden, waarin hun geliefde Appie Nouri ligt te vechten, denken zij nog aan de medemens en bieden ze wildvreemden waaronder ikzelf nog drinken aan. Nouri zal nooit meer kunnen voetballen. Ik heb daarom een filmpje gemaakt waar ik mijn beelden van gisteren heb gecombineerd met (voetbal)herinneringen van Appie. Zijn liefde voor Ajax, zijn plezier in het spel en zijn manier van oplossen als er een grove overtreding op hem wordt gemaakt. Iedere zin van het gebruikte nummer Where The Heart Is (van HEAVN, lyrics staan hieronder) slaat wat mij betreft op Appie, zijn talenten en zijn huidige situatie.
