The film stars the late Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya along with Shriya Saran and Samantha in the lead roles while Amitabh Bachchan made a cameo appearance in the film. The film's dialogues will be written by Harshavardan, while Anoop Rubens will handle music. The film is a period drama which spans 100 years lying between 1920 and 2020 with a reincarnation angle in it and is based on the concept of eternal love. In this film, Akkineni Nageswara Rao plays a 90 year old man. The Principal shooting of the film began on 7 June 2013. Manam will be the last film of Nageswara Rao who died during the production phase of the film in January 2014 and thus is stated as a befitting send off and a tribute by his son Nagarjuna to him. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on May 23, 2014 in theaters. Anoop Rubens was recruited to compose music for the film marking his second collaboration with Vikram Kumar after Ishq and Naga Chaitanya after Autonagar Surya. Chandrabose and Vanamali provided the lyrics for the songs. The film also marks Anoop Rubens 25th film as a Music composer. Aditya Music bagged the audio rights of the film. The film's audio was launched on May 9, 2014 by Aditya Music's streaming section in YouTube instead of opting for a promotional audio launch event.
