Since HowToBasic and I are both Australians, we thought we'd celebrate my 400,000 subscribers by doing a little Vegemite extravaganza. Vegemite triggers the umami taste in the taste buds which is one of the 5 basic tastes. A loanword from the Japanese (うま味?), umami can be translated "pleasant savory taste". Mostly anyone who hasn't been either bought up with Vegemite or had it over time, hates it. It's an aqquired taste and I wouldn't reccomend digging in, use a light layer over some toast WITH butter. Vegemite smells and tastes like the left over shit at the bottom of a pan after cooking meat and leaving it out for a few weeks.
