- description: A man needed more than 20 stitches in his face after being attacked following a dispute on a bus. The attack happened at around 8.50pm on Monday 6 May 2013 on Stockport Road, Levenshulme, opposite Asda. A 48-year-old man and his partner, a woman in her 40s, had been travelling on the 192 bus, from Manchester city centre to Stockport, when they became involved in an argument with two men and two women, believed to be in their early twenties. One of the group shouted abuse at the woman and the dispute continued as all six people got off the bus at Stockport Road. One of the two men then picked up a traffic cone and hit the 48-year-old man in the face with it, causing serious injuries to his face. The group then ran off. The man was taken to hospital, where he had more than 20 stitches in his face. Detective Constable Martin Riley said: "What started off as a small dispute on a bus, has ended up with a man suffering significant injuries to his face following what was a quite violent attack. "We have issued some CCTV footage, which clearly shows the two men and women on the bus shortly before the attack took place. The man suspected of instigating the assault is wearing a dark coloured hoody, but we are appealing for anyone that recognises any of the four individuals to contact us and help us with our enquiries. "If you would prefer to pass on information anonymously to police, then this can be done by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111." Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 4288.
