- description: The Bohermeen Cycling Club first formed in the 1930s when a group of very athletic, stout young lads came together to form a proper cycling club of their own - only to find that bicycle racing came quite naturally to them all. After the club gained the advice of the well-known and loved Mick Beggan of Boyerstown, the team went on to solid victory for NINE YEARS! Yes, you read that correctly - they were unbeaten for nine years straight running. Later known as the 'The Bog Men', the group went on to future victories included many road race wins and on July 1st, 1936 a WORLD record was set (and held for 15 years).
