The paddler scrambled for the shore as the crocodile gave chase. Thankfully, a panicked onlooker standing on a nearby bridge hurled an object at the creature, stopping the giant reptile's pursuit. Manuel Cerrara, who filmed the terrifying footage, was quoted by Nine News saying the boy was lucky the croc is fed regularly by tourists and fishermen. "Unfortunately, that crocodile already associated us with food and as the video shows the boy was saved because the crocodile is well fed and chased at a pace that allowed him to reach the shore," Mr Cerrara said. Locals consider the water too dangerous to swim in.
