La polizia è intervenuta solo quando il blitz non è riuscito e la situazione è uscita di mano ai fascisti, con l'intervento di compagni di Denis e di persone che hanno iniziato a riprendere la scena. Левина попытались насильно усадить в машину, при этом милиционеры никак не отреагировали на борьбу активиста с радикалами. Во время потасовки ополченец упал на асфальт, и человек с автоматом нанес ему несколько ударов. За активиста сразу же вступились сторонники. Столкновения снял на видео один из участников митинга. Активистов окружили люди в масках и попытались вырвать молодого человека из их рук. На крики о помощи милиционеры не реагировали. Стражи порядка не задержали вооруженных людей в масках, а напротив — попытались оградить их от возмущенной толпы.
