- description: If you are scared of heights, look away now. A zip wire ride that taking tourists whizzing over Kiev at around 37mph has opened to the public. If you are brave enough can you travel from Kiev's city centre to Trukhaniv Island, in the Dnipro River, in just 45 seconds. The wire is 62 meters above the water and enables "passengers" to enjoy a bird's eye view of the Ukrainian capital and its riverfront. This zip wire is known locally as the "Trolley" is run by an adventure company called Skypark. Thrill seekers start near the Friendship of Nations Arch in the city centre and whiz along the descent of 600 meters (1,968ft) at the flight speed of 60kmh (37mph). In less than a minute you are at your destination on Trukhaniv Island, with your adrenaline levels increased. The zip wire is stretched with two ropes, parallel to the city's pedestrian bridge. The one way ticket above the river costs 150 Ukrainian hryvnas per person (approximately £12).
