- description: A hot air balloon catches fire and crashes in Egypt, killing 19 tourists. It is believed that one if its cables made contact with a helium canister and subsequently started a fire. The balloon was actually coming in for a landing when this occurred at 40 feet elevation. The pilot and two other passengers made the decision to jump out at this time. Of these 3 people 2 survived the 40 foot fall. After this occurred the balloon shoots up into the sky. At 1000 feet (video cuts in) the balloon explodes and plummets to the ground. There were a total of 22 people in the balloon. Only the pilot, and a British tourist survived, although the tourists condition is unknown. This is believed to be the worst hot air balloon accident ever. For some context the Arabic individuals in this video are saying "Laa ilaha illa allah" (there is no god but God). This is the equivalent of a Westerner saying "oh my god". (February 26th 2013.
