The driver lost control and caused a rollover crash on I-275 near the Combs-Hehl Bridge back in February 2016. A man in the car, Michael Gilliam, died. A woman and a 7-month-old baby in the back seat were thrown from the car. Both were badly hurt but survived. The woman, Amanda Thomas, is indicted on a charge of felony criminal abuse. Another man in the car, Billy Jones, is also indicted on felony criminal abuse. Both charges were related to the baby being in the car at the time of the crash.
