  • description: Aubrey Plaza was ejected from MTV Movie Awards after she crashed the stage & tried to take an award from Will Ferrell. Plaza, who was seated in the front row of the theater at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, Calif., ran up during Ferrell's acceptance speech for the Comedic Genius award and started pulling on Ferrell's MTV trophy. "What's happening?" Ferrell asked while maintaining a firm grip on the award. "Are you OK?" Deterred, Plaza walked back to her seat after a short period of time. The actress had a plug for her upcoming comedy "The To-Do List" written across her chest. "Aubrey Plaza, everyone. Just like we rehearsed it. Perfect, it was perfect. Not too long, not too short. Right on the money," Ferrell joked after the bizarre incident. Except it wasn't rehearsed, at least according to MTV. Soon thereafter, Plaza, who stars on the NBC show "Parks and Recreation," was asked to leave the show for her improvised bit. The network was quick to call the stunt "a Kanye," a reference to when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. After the broadcast, MTV spoke to Ferrell about Plaza's behavior. "I think she wanted to tell me something important," he joked. "It was just a lot of hot liquor breath and sweat. Then she ran away." About that: According to the New York Daily News, Plaza "may have been drunk." Skeptics of whether this stunt was truly unexpected will note that Plaza was seated in the front row, an oddity considering stars of "Marvel's The Avengers," which won best film at the MTV Movie Awards and grossed over $1.5 billion around the globe, were placed a few rows back. Regardless, Plaza accomplished her goal: the indie comedy "The To-Do List," which arrives in theaters on Aug. 16, just earned a whole lot of free advertising.
