- description: THE FACTS: Memphis point guard Mike Conley capped off a huge fourth quarter by stepping back and calmly nailing an 18-foot jumper with just more than a minute to play putting his Grizzlies in front by four and leading them to a 99-93 road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder and tying their Western Conference semifinal series at a game apiece. Conley just missed a triple-double and hit almost every shot he took in the fourth quarter in leading the Grizzlies with 26 points on 11-for-22 shooting. He also had 10 rebounds and nine assists. Thunder forward Kevin Durant also just missed a triple-double with 36 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. The Thunder gave up 30 points in the fourth quarter, 13 of those to Conley, who was 5-for-6 overall and 2-for-3 on 3s in the final 12 minutes of the game. Conley also led the Grizzlies in rebounds with 10, seven of those in the fourth quarter also. Memphis had three other starters in double figures -- Marc Gasol with 24 points, Zach Randolph with 15 and Tony Allen with 12. Oklahoma City got a big game from Derek Fisher who had 19 points on 6-for-9 shooting and 4-for-5 on 3s but not much from anyone else. Serge Ibaka had 11 points and Reggie Jackson had 10 but OKC sixth man Kevin Martin, who had scored 25 points in two straight playoff games, managed just six Tuesday on 2-for-11 shooting. The Thunder struggled in areas they excelled at in Game 1 -- they couldn't keep the Grizzlies off the offensive glass, they turned it over and allowed Memphis to dominate in the paint. QUOTABLE: "I let my guy go one assist shy of a triple-double, you don't have to look too far to find how we lost tonight." -- Jackson QUOTABLE: "We had to fight it out, grind it out and we were fortunate to get the win." -- Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins THE STAT: Memphis scored 61 points in just two quarters, 30 in the second and 31 in the fourth. The Grizzlies scored 50 points in the paint and 23 second-chance points after having just four in Game 1. Memphis also scored a whopping 29 points off of 21 OKC turnovers. TURNING POINT: Memphis dominated the fourth quarter on Oklahoma City's home floor, outscoring the Thunder 30-19 and outrebounding them 13-7. The Grizzlies started the quarter with a 9-2 run to put them in front and set the tone for the rest of the period. QUOTABLE III: "We just gave up too many second-chance points and offensive rebounds. We've gotta block them out and hold our ground. We gave them 30 points in two quarters and we're a better defensive team than that. I thought we had a couple of defensive breakdowns that really hurt." -- Thunder coach Scott Brooks HOT: Gasol hit his first four shots. ... OKC was 8-for-8 during a stretch of the second quarter. ... NOT: Another slow start to a game for the Thunder as they begin 4-for-10 (40 percent). ... Ibaka missed his first four shots. ... OKC shot just 37.5 percent (6-for-16) in the first quarter. ... Thunder turned it over six times in the first 12 minutes. ... Martin was 1-for-5 (four points) at halftime and finished 2-for-11. ... OKC shot 38.9 percent in the fourth quarter. INSIDE THE ARENA: The 112th consecutive sellout inside Chesapeake Energy Arena. University of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops sat courtside along with NBA "super fan" Jimmy Goldstein. GOOD MOVE: Hollins told his guards to begin pressuring the Thunder as they brought the ball up the court and that resulted in Oklahoma City turning it over six times in the first quarter. That number was up to 11 by halftime. GOOD MOVE II: After getting only eight offensive rebounds and scoring just four second-chance points in Game 1, Memphis controlled the glass in the first half. The Grizzlies had 10 offensive rebounds and scored 12 second-chance points. NOTABLE: Conley is just the fourth player in the last 25 seasons with at least 26 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in a road playoff win. He joins LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Baron Davis.
