If we did, there would be less crazy prices and more opportunities for everyone to own a home. 2- If you really want to make housing a safer investment and keep prices low, we should require a much larger down payment; 20%. That would give everyone enough skin in the game to stick it through tough times. As it stands, people are still getting into homes with little to no money down and that is dangerous. Questions?
