Cosenza were beaten 2-1 at home by visitors Vibonese, and the hosts lost their heads as the match drew to a close. Gagliardi was ordered off the sidelines after the manager protested too vehemently after seeing one of his attackers try to score a goal with a clear-as-day handball, so the coach took refuge by the entrance to underground stairs which took the players back to the dressing room. Minutes later Gagliardi watched on as his midfielder Franco Da Dalt also collected his marching orders after a cynical body-check in the middle of the pitch. The came the moment of madness. As Da Dalt headed down the stairs, manager Gagliardi crazily assaulted the player as his anger got the better of him. Other coaches piled into the mix to separate the warring twosome as the tensions boiled over.
