  • description: Directed and edited by Marcus Howard. The battle of the home begins. This part features footage from around the country of towns and cities protesting the household charge, which many cannot afford to pay. As evictions increase, there is a growing movement of Irish people taking the law into their own hands. The video features footage of Séamus Sherlock of Life After Debt, Ben Gilroy of Direct Democracy Ireland and People For Economic Justice, Claire Cullinane of Debtoptions and Tom Darcy of Changeisuptoyou. I find it very surprising that they are not getting more coverage on national media. The documentary also continues the theme of learning from Irish figures of the past and this part makes comparisons with Michael Davitt and Charles Stuart Parnell of The Land League from the 1880's with today. The documentary is for educational purposes. This video has no allegiance to any political party in Ireland but rather it's intention is to educate about some of the main issues regarding the recession in Ireland.
