- description: The Netherlands booked their place in the Semi Finals of the Women's Hockey World League with a commanding 8-1 victory over India. The Dutch opened the scoring after twenty one minutes; a back pass from India was intercepted, Kitty Van Male at full stretch to get a cross in and Kim Lammers with the finish. Maartje Paumen made it 2-0 three minutes before half time. The Dutch Captain sent a rocket into the roof of the net from a short corner. It was 3-0 ten minutes into the second half. Ellen Hoog weaved through a group of defenders and lashed a reverse stick shot into the corner of the goal. India pulled one back. Poonam Rani quickly took a free hit that caught the Dutch defence on the back foot, Vandana Katariya with a deft touch to flick the ball into the goal. The Dutch restored their three goal advantage almost immediately. Kitty Van Male took a huge swipe from the edge of the area which Savita managed to parry but Valerie Magis was on hand to turn in the rebound for her first goal of the tournament. Eva De Goede got her name on the score sheet off a smart short corner routine to make it 5-1. The Dutch were on a roll. Sabine Mol bagged a sixth for the Olympic champions. The Netherlands could do no wrong. Paumen converted her second short corner of the match for 7-1. Not to be upstaged De Goede slotted her second penalty corner in the last minute of the match for a one sided 8-1 final score. A comprehensive victory for the Netherlands who now move onto a Semi Final match up against New Zealand on Thursday.
