  • description: Australia booked a place in the final of the Men's Rabobank Hockey World League in Rotterdam after a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Netherlands. The Kookaburra's now face Belgium in Sunday's final. Christopher Ciriello opened the scoring for the Kookaburra's after seventeen minutes with a well-placed drag flick from a short corner. Hertzberger responded with a drag flick of his own to level up the scores and net his ninth goal of the competition. Matt Gohdes restored Australia's lead with a wonderful solo effort; he broke down the baseline, flipped to the reverse and buried the finish from an extremely tight angle. Jaap Stockmann prevented Australia extending their lead with an incredible stop to deny Jamie Dwyer from a yard out. Billy Bakker levelled it three minutes into the second half with a bolt from the top of the circle. Australia responded again. Russell Ford got a touch on Kieran Govers penalty corner. Govers put daylight between the two sides with another penalty corner to make it 4-2. The Netherlands responded immediately, a slick short corner move finished by injector Hofman with a slap from close range.
