Bhuvneshwar Kumar rattled out some big scalps as he whittled down the numbers and picked up three wickets. The spinners then complimented him with man of the match Jadeja bowling impressive figures of 2-12. R Ashwin then struck again at the end by skittling out the tail and notched up three dismissals overall. Pietersen, Root and Patel offered some resistance but India's bowling force was too much to handle. The home side stuttered their way through their innings and were unable to find any real momentum. The Indian captain then found himself with a new partner and they really put England under pressure, smashing a 96 run partnership in 10 overs. Kohli and Singh steered them to a safer position after early wickets and Raina and Dhoni carried on the momentum. England have been swept aside here by an Indian side who played with a pronounced rejuvenated swagger. MS Dhoni:"I think everyone performed really well. I think initially we didn't get off to a good start but Yuvraj did well to settle things. We were worried that the wicket would dry up and there would be nothing in it for the spinners but that wasn't the case. Jadeja really got something out of it. I don't think it was a wicket on which we could have bowled first. We had to bat first and Yuvraj and Suresh did a good job. Initally Raina and I looked for 240/250 but as we progressed we pushed on for 270/280. The crowd today was brilliant. They were superb right from the beginning and even when we got off to a bad start they stuck with us. The support really helped." Alastair Cook: "The last 10 overs of India innings really cost us. Chasing 240/250 would have been better and I think the pitch spun a bit more in the second innings but you cannot use that as an excuse. We were outskilled and outplayed today and at 1-1 there's all to play for. I think it's fair to say that we weren't at the races today. All credit to India for putting us under pressure when they did and for getting the win."
