- description: Just when we thought the cyclone season was over, a new LOW has sparked our interest. This new LOW lies in the Solomon Sea between PNG and the Solomon Islands. It is expected to remain almost stationary for a day or so before beginning to move SW and then West towards the far northern coast of Queensland on Sunday, Monday and eventually hit the coast on Tuesday. There is a reasonable chance that this LOW may deepen into a tropical cyclone before making landfall. At this very early stage the LOW is expected to make landfall around Princess Charlotte Bay, but rainfall from it is likely to extend a long way southwards, even as far south as Cardwell/Tully (including Cairns).
