  • description: To solve the puzzles on your own, there are several fundamental steps in each of the puzzles. As you can see, the grey buttons are permanent, and you cannot change them. The arrows will indicate the direction that the strip will move in. The code naturally moves from left to right. Next up is the boxes with arrows. These will move the code in the direction of the arrow ONLY when the strip is placed on a number that is indicated in the box, so if the number in the box is for example, 1, then the code will only follow the arrow if the number indicated by the strip is 1. Otherwise, simply try and place everything so that the order in which the code goes through ensures that the numbers match that on top. After solving the first 6 puzzles, go back to the home page and reload the doodle; there are an additional 6 puzzles which have increased difficulty. I may also make a video for those solutions later on. Alan Turing, born on June 23, 1912, was a famous computer scientist best known for his work on the algorithms and computation of the Turing machine, which was named after him. Google changed their logo on his 100th birthday to an interactive Doodle which has puzzles people can solve. I went through the first section of the puzzle here.
