The famous Wrecking Crew recorded the music for the ABC musical-sitcom starring Shirley Jones and featuring David Cassidy. The Partridge Family ran for four seasons from 1970 until 1974. The television series was loosely based on the real-life musical family The Cowsills. David Cassidy plays Keith Partridge, the oldest of Shirley Jones' five children on their music career journey. The two of them were the only ones allowed to sing on the recordings and show; none played the instruments. The Partridge Family was nominated for Best New Artist on 1971 Grammy Awards.
