Grandma Fowler's Apple Pie - How To!

- description: Ingredients: 6 Granny Smith apples cored, peeled and sliced 1 Tablespoon lemon juice 3/4 cup sugar 1 Tablespoon flour 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon salt 2 Tablespoons butter Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling the top 3 premade refrigerated pie crusts Directions: Core, peel and slice all the apples. Mix in the lemon juice. Add the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Place the apples into a strainer placed over a large bowl and let sit for 15 minutes. Pour the drained juice into a microwave safe container and add butter. Microwave for 6 minutes then mix the home-made caramel back into the apples. Line pie pan with pie crust and fill with apples. Top with pie crust (up to you whether you want to basket weave the crust). Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes. If the edges start browning too quickly wrap them in aluminum foil to prevent burning. Let pie cool before cutting into it and serve with vanilla bean ice cream.
