- description: This week's Winning Wheel winner is Rod from Auckland. He, his wife Fernalyn, and their three children are originally from the Phillipines, but have been in New Zealand since 2000. Rod was a hot shot basketball player in the Phillipines, but just plays socially in New Zealand -- he loves all sports, but as he works night shifts doesn't get to play as often as he'd like. Top of the wish-list is a holiday back to visit family, but also buying a new car and putting a deposit on their own home. In this video we also meet a group of students at Lottery grant recipient, English Language Partners North Shore. The national organisation receives substantial funding from NZ Lotteries Grant Board to teach English language and Kiwi culture to migrants and refugees.
