- description: This is our video response to the Electronic Media Journalists' Association of AP as well as the TV channels that ran the smear campaign against us. They claimed that we were inebriated and were being a public nuisance. We hope this video helps dispel any doubts that those allegations are entirely false. WE DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO ANY OF THE FOOTAGE put together in this video. However, it was necessary that we use only the original footage from the night of April 11, 2013 to fully explain the extent to which those news channels had manipulated, fabricated and sensationalized the story. While the video comprises of footage from Studio N and TV11, other regional channels that are equally complicit in resorting to such voyeuristic reporting include ABN Andhra Jyothi, TV9, Saakshi TV, Ntv Telugu News Channel, CVR News and TV5. The news channels' portrayals of the incident was misleading, defamatory and needless to say, completely uninformed. What is particularly worrisome is that this is not a standalone story. For years now, TV channels in the city seem to have made voyeuristic stories like this their USP. Cursory searches through their YouTube channels indicate several other instances of individuals being targeted by reporters waiting outside pubs and clubs seeking to create "scandalous" stories in a bid to boost their TRPs.
