- description: Students of different Technion faculties have joined forces to create the first ever Technion Formula Student race car. Co-sponsored by Grand Technion Energy Program (GTEP), the 25-member Technion team will compete in Milan in September 2013 against 50 international teams to design, build and test a single-seat racing car within budget. The vehicle's maximum velocity is 170 km/h and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4 seconds. The car was unveiled on July 7, 2013. Technion Formula SAE takes students out of the classroom and into the fast lane to apply textbook theories, all the while earning academic credit in Prof. Reuven Katz's "New Product Design" course as well as gaining real-world experience.
