- description: Around 20 minutes after the annual "twelfth" of July band parade passed off generally peacefully in East Belfast, rocks and missiles started getting fired over the Short Strand interface from both sides. This lead to an angry response, which caused clashes with police and attempts to break through to the other side of the interface, although unsuccessful. Clashes between nationalists and unionists took place all over the city, the North being worst affected on this day with at least 32 injured including one DUP MP. Matt Sterling from WRC NI (@MSterling27 on twitter) was at an interface in East Belfast, where water cannons were used to separate rival groups from attacking one another and police.
