Under the sizzling summer sunlight, Crost Ensemble held hands with a number of Korean Sub-culture producers, in order to commemorate the 68th anniversary of Korea's independence day, from Japanese military colonization. We thank all the participants who have gratefully shared their time in animating, filming, arranging and performing the music, since April, 2013. The title of this video, 'Present is the Present' means the 'present' of Korea is a 'present', not only from the patriotic martyrs who have struggled through the brutal history of the past, but also the past itself. The video contains arranged versions of the following songs; Old Lang Syne (석별의 정)', a national anthem sung by Koreans under Japanese colonial period when there was no official national anthem, 'Arirang (아리랑)', a song representing the Korean emotion, and our official national anthem, 'Aegukga (애국가)' You could also hear the voices of 18 beautiful singers gathered from twitter, who were kind enough to donate their harmony.
