- description: A traveler in Washington DC gets a mysterious gift: an Ultrabook that grants all his wishes. How will he wield his unexpected powers? Why it was chosen: "The script had a surrealism and intensity that stood out amongst the others. I found it appealing that the story was adventurous and the conclusion can't be predicted." -- Roman Coppola Director: Spencer Susser One of the hottest young directors in Hollywood, Susser recently directed Joseph Gordon Levitt and Natalie Portman in Hesher, and was behind the acclaimed short film I Love Sarah Jane. Winning Screenwriter: Adam Blampied Adam Blampied is a student at the London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts. He writes and performs for the sketch comedy troupe, The Beta Males. Featuring: Michael Govier Michael Govier is an actor, director, and playwright. He is also a company member with Barrel of Monkeys, a theatre group that teaches creative writing to kids in public schools. Govier was discovered during an open casting call with director Spencer Susser. His good-natured look and soft, sympathetic eyes won him the part of Eugene. Featuring: Karolina Wydra Karolina Wydra has played several roles on the small and big screen. She was a recurring guest star opposite Hugh Laurie on the popular TV show House M.D. from 2011 to 2012, was featured in the 2008 cult hit film Be Kind Rewind with Jack Black, and in last year's summer blockbuster Crazy, Stupid, Love. Wydra will next be seen in the independent film Europa opposite Michael Nyqvist. Additional Notes: Australian singer-songwriter Ben Lee makes a cameo in a short musical piece written by another Australian Singer-songwriter Rai Thistlethwayte. About Four Stories Intel and W Hotels created Four Stories to identify and support rising visionaries in filmmaking, and provide them with a platform to share their talent with audiences around the world. Four winning scripts, inspired by iconic W Hotels destinations and the mobility of the Intel-inspired Ultrabook™, were chosen from nearly 1000 submissions from aspiring filmmakers worldwide. They were selected by a panel of entertainment industry insiders and filmmakers, and developed into short films. Roman Coppola and his production company, The Directors Bureau, matched the four scripts with some of today's most talented young directors and actors to bring each winner's vision to life. The resulting four films, plus an original short by Coppola himself, were shot at some of W Hotels' most exotic and cutting-edge locations — from the Maldives and Hollywood to Doha, Washington D.C. and Mexico City — and feature the Ultrabook as a central character. Four Stories is part of The Ultrabook Experience: a series of collaborations between Intel and innovative companies worldwide, enabled by the Ultrabook — a new category of computing devices powered by Intel.
