WITNESS BRAD CORNBLATT SAID "THIS DUDE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS AIMING AT PEOPLE, VERY PURPOSIFUL, VERY HORRIBLE HE HAD JUST A DETERMINED LOOK ON HIS FACE ". OTHER WITNESSES SAID THEY SAW ONE WOMAN FLY INTO THE AIR AND THAT IT WAS "TOTAL PANDAMONIUM ".WITNESS EMILY FUNKELSTEIN SAID "THE MAN WAS DRIVING AT A STEADY PACE NOT MORE THAN 5 OR 6 MILES PER HOUR AND PEOPLE WERE SCREAMING,PEOPLE WERE ALREADY ON THE GROUND AND HE JUST DROVE OFF." According to police, many of the patients are already being transported to area hospitals.Two of those with minor injuries declined ambulance transport.All of the injured persons are believed to have been pedestrians on boardwalk.It's unclear the age or gender of the injured as of yet.One eyewitness, Joe, said that "some man started driving up the walk in Venice and was running anyone over in his way."He told MPTCN that now on the boardwalk "It's hectic and alot of witnesses are distraught with many holding back tears and one police officer openly sobbing. The guy hasn't been caught." Venice911 said that the vehicle "should have damage from hitting multiple occupied tables."Another eyewitness said that she arrived after the people were hit by the car and she saw them being carted away by paramedics.The accident happened around 6:40 p.m. PDT. Venice Beach is in Los Angeles, California. She said that most of the paramedics she saw were holding back tears and one elderly man was sobbing with most other people too distraught to make a statement or comment.
