This caused public outrage and the opposition strongly condemns this violation of democratic due process. As a response to this violation, hundreds of students took over the parliament the next day. They had 3 objectives: 1.Giving the parliament back to the people; 2.The opposition joins them; 3.President Ma complies with the demand by the majority. I used to fight for democracy as a legislator. It has come a long way and is our asset. In a recent opinion poll, 70% of the people think that the pact must be re-negotiated.But the ruling party is going against the majority. To save our democracy, the students decided to self-help and occupy the parliament. This is a significant moment. We need the attention and support of the international community. Please share this with your friend. God bless Taiwan.
