JOHN'S), July 25, 2012--The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the persons responsible for an armed robbery at a commercial business on Topsail Road in Conception Bay South (CBS), NL. On July 22, 2012 at approximately 10:20 PM, RNC Officers from Patrol Services, K9, Forensic Identification Section and the Criminal Investigation Division responded to an armed robbery at Maries Mini Mart on Topsail Road in CBS. During the commission of the offence a female clerk at the store received injuries from a substance believed to be bear spray. She was treated at the scene and released. The suspects entered the store and demanded cash before fleeing the scene. It is believed a black car may have been used to flee the area. One male suspect is described as approximately 6' 0", blocky build wearing a black jacket, white shirt, and jeans. He had on sunglasses, a winter hat and a bandana covering his face. The second suspect is described as 5'7" and at the time of the incident was wearing a striped long sleeve shirt, jeans, black sneakers and a red camping style hat. He had his face concealed by a mask. The RNC believes there was a third and forth male who were assisting in the crime. The RNC General Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate this armed robbery and is seeking the assistance of the general public. Anyone that has information that would assist in identifying the person responsible or anyone that may have any information in relation to this crime is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
