  • description: A mother was slammed for parading her "embarrassed" four-year-old daughter on national TV. Charlie Denton appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier today with her little girl Nevaeh to raise awareness of precocious puberty. Nevaeh, whose rare condition affects one in 5,000 children, started to develop breasts when she was just two years old as a result. "It was a huge shock," explained Charlie. "Just after her second birthday, she developed breast buds. "At first, the doctor reassured us she was fine but then she developed second buds and so we took her back. "She then underwent many tests and we were told she had started puberty. We had never heard of the condition before." While Charlie was on the programme to raise awareness and help others, those tuning in at home were concerned for Nevaeh, who looked incredibly uncomfortable during the interview. The little girl appeared petrified as she clung to her mother's neck and refused to even look at the camera. Afterwards, viewers were concerned for the toddler beinh taken on national TV to talk about her "embarrassing illness". "Surely you can interview the mum on the subject without parading the little girl in front of the camera who is clearly uncomfortable @GMB," wrote one. Another then added: "@GMB Your daughter clearly doesn't want to be on television. Why are you making her? Poor girl." Moments later, a different viewer wrote: "@GMB poor girl being paraded on TV for rare embarrassing illness." Nevaeh has an injection every 12 weeks to suppress the hormones which trigger puberty. According to Dr Hilary Jones, she should go through puberty properly when she is older like her peers if she sticks to the treatment.
