- description: http://www.MyInjustice.org https://www.facebook.com/events/491599257582085/ After eighteen months contemplating suicide over excessive pressure from the Irish government and the banks, Tony Rochford decided to take a stand and go on hunger strike. That was on the 17th June. The final straw for Tony was the property tax. Having objected then refusing to pay the tax he was labelled as non-compliant by the revenue commissioner and therefore will not be issued with a tax clearance cert leaving him unable to work. He is not entitled to any state benefit so effectively he is economically dead. Tony continues on his protest to this day, and is adamant he will continue to the death. In honour and support of this brave man, the 'My Injustice' campaign was created. The aim of this campaign is to highlight all the injustices being forced upon individual Irish people by this and previous governments. Tony is the inspiration behind the campaign. We want to show him that we are willing to take a unified approach to all our problems, support each other and help each other. We cannot allow one man to bear the brunt of this corporate government's greed and we want to show Tony that we are willing to work harder, with more regularity and more unity. Let us all stand together and unite in solidarity with our brother Tony on Friday 12th July at Leinster House. Let us reignite Tony's spirit and belief in Irish society. Let us come together and show that we care about each other, that we understand each other's problems, and that we are prepared to work together in search of a better Ireland. Never again should one man feel his only option left in life is to starve himself to death. From now on, with compassion in our hearts, let us understand that... Your injustice is our injustice. Please support this campaign by sharing the videos and showing up in solidarity on Friday at 3pm at Leinster House. If you are part of a protest group please feel free to prepare a five minutes speech about your aims and a brief message in support for Tony because every group will have an opportunity to speak on the day. We respectfully ask that no political parties attend this event as this is a people's protest. Thank you.
