A squadron of US marines joined the UK’s Royal Marines to hone their combat skills in the North East after choosing to train at the newly developed centre at Follingsby Park - widely recognised as one the best facilities of its type in the country. It has already played host to the Royal Marines and Royal Netherlands Marine Corps who have been attracted by the state-of-the-art facilities. And now the 6th Marine Regiment of the United States Marine Corps and the Royal Marines from 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group are using the facility for a week-long training exercise. Hopefully the rest of the week will go better than this.
